Representatives of US Department of Defense paid a visit to Khmelnitsky NPP
On October 1, 2015 Khmelnitsky NPP was attended by representatives of US Department of Defense (DoD). The purpose of the visit was to provide logistical support to divisions of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) engaged in protection of nuclear power plants.
During the visit, experts from the US Cooperative Threat Reduction Support Center had a tour of KhNPP premises and military equipment facilities used for the NPP protection.
According to Oleg Golovinov, the Head of the Vital National Facilities Protection Department of the NGU Main Administration, such DoD assistance is foreseen for all Ukrainian NPPs. As of today, similar visits have been paid to Zaporozhye and South-Ukrainian NPPs. Within the framework of this international project, the logistical support to NGU divisions involved in NPP protection will be provided free of charge.
During the last day KhNPP generated 17.09 million kWh
Khmelnitsky 1 has been in outage for 56 days.
On August 8, 2015, Kh-1 was disconnected from the power grid for outage at 00:13 a.m.
On October 2, Khmelnitsky 2 is at 712 MW power. 17.09 mln. kWh was generated on October 1.
Ionizing radiation background on the industrial site and adjacent area has not changed. Its level corresponds to normal operation of the units and does not exceed natural background values.
